DESCRIPTION
Did you ever wonder how a city plans to accommodate a new huge industry that comes to town?
What if the industry plans on having 2,000 employees when it opens?
Stephen E. Meyer, P.E., President of Meyer Transportation Consultants, Inc.. will present from the perspective of a city such as Chattanooga trying to determine what roadways need to be improved for a large industrial park that starts with 2,000 employees (i.e., Volkswagen) and could grow to 10,000 employees.
When contemplating this issue, several questions arise, including:
-
What questions need to be answered to accommodate this amount of growth?
-
What roadways are OK?
-
How do you estimate how many trucks/cars/railroad cars will come to the area?
-
How far into the future do you have to plan to improve the roadways?
-
Do you need to build new roads to accommodate traffic?
-
How do you reduce the chance of congestion on all roadways near the Enterprise South Industrial Park?
The Commercial REALTORS® Council (CRC) holds quarterly breakfast meetings for the purpose of networking with other commercial practitioners in the Greater Chattanooga area. However, all GCAR members are welcome to attend.
Please RSVP using the link below so that we can have an accurate headcount.
