NAR's Chief Economist, Dr. Lawrence Yun, is Zooming into Chattanooga to provide a 30-minute Economic Update, including the national perspective and a drill down to our local market data.

BIO: Dr. Lawrence Yun

Lawrence Yun is Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).  He oversees and is responsible for a wide range of research activity for the association including NAR’s Existing Home Sales statistics, Affordability Index, and Home Buyers and Sellers Profile Report.  He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for its 1.4 million REALTORS®.

Dr. Yun creates NAR’s forecasts and participates in many economic forecasting panels, among them the Blue Chip Council and the Wall Street Journal Forecasting Survey. He appears regularly on financial news outlets, is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences throughout the United States, and has testified before Congress. He also participates in the Industrial Economists Discussion Group at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University. He has appeared as a guest on CSPAN’s Washington Journal.

Dr. Yun received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park.

This webinar is the first in a new series* called Let's Talk! Diversity & Inclusion.

In "A Conversation with a Reformed Racist & Former Cop" we'll hear from:

Sabrina Hagood, 2020 Chair, Diversity Inclusion Committee: Longtime real estate investor and former cop, Hagood became a REALTOR® in 2017. As a black woman, her personal and professional experiences blend for a unique perspective on racism. 

Franklin McCallie, Founder of Chattanooga Connect: A Chattanooga native, McCallie founded Chattanooga Connect in 2013 to promote racial equality in the community. The McCallie name is well-known in Chattanooga, as McCallie's grandfather and great-uncle founded McCallie School in 1905, and two of his great-aunts founded Girls Preparatory School in 1906. Admittedly, McCallie grew up in racial ignorance, and it wasn't until college that his eyes were opened to inequality. McCallie is a former educator, and the first white administrator at Chattanooga's Howard High School when it was an all-black school. 

Participants will not be on audio/video but will have the ability to ask questions during the presentation, as time allows.
